SHE/THEY

Headshot of Julie Hernandez, Social Work Intern, in front of a blooming cherry tree

I’m a 2nd-year graduate student at NYU Steinhardt in their Master’s for Counseling in Mental Health and Wellness program with an Advanced Certificate in LGBT Health, Education, and Social Services.

My goal is to support my clients in connecting and affirming their innermost selves as well as identifying skills and resources to utilize in times of distress or crisis

I aim to create a safe, comfortable, and authentic environment for those who choose to take this journey with me. .

As a transfeminine/non-binary, queer, white-Latinx individual from the Southern U.S., it is important for me to claim and hold my identities alongside the intersectionalities that exist within my clients, in pursuit of mutual understanding, growth, and pride.

I am passionate about working with folks within my various communities, especially queer and trans/gender-diverse folks. I am also interested in working with couples and within therapy groups.

I offer an integrative approach in my therapeutic practice that draws on feminist, multicultural, relational, person-centered, and strength-based therapy

If you’re interested in working together, email me today, and we can find a time to meet and see if working together would be a good fit.
