Juno Henderson

SHE/HER

I'm a firm believer that finding a therapist who is the right fit for you is a crucial and often arduous step in the therapeutic process. Below is a bit about my background and approach to make that process easier.

I am currently completing the final year of my Masters in Social Work from Columbia University where I study Advanced Clinical Practice with a concentration in health, mental health, and disabilities. Before coming to Columbia I studied psychology and behavioral science, and have been working with clients in various therapeutic capacities for over five years.

Along with my social work degree, I am working towards becoming certified as a sex and relationships therapist. Sex and sexuality are integral facets of human experience yet there is still widespread discomfort and avoidance when it comes to talking about sex.

In working with clients, I aim to create a safe and supportive space, one where you feel empowered to share your thoughts and experiences of sexuality, arousal, love, loss, pain, trauma, grief, and anything else that might come up for you during our work together.

Before coming to Wise I worked with college students in crisis, unhoused populations, and survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault. I work with my clients to heal from trauma while empowering them to connect with their innermost authentic selves and rebuild their connection to joy. I believe that some of the worst moments of our lives create space for some of the most profound evolution of self. I work with my clients to navigate trauma and recovery while acknowledging and building upon their strengths.

I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, and I welcome work with adolescents and adults regardless of ability, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual identity, or religious affiliation. I don’t believe that there is one single therapeutic approach that is effective for everyone. My goal is to work with you to find the right approach that will lead to the most personal growth, recovery, and self-discovery.
