Kendra Boylan, LCSW
THEY/SHE
PROGRAM DIRECTOR, SENIOR THERAPIST
I am a queer, non-binary psychotherapist currently offering individual therapy. I have an LMSW and over 6 years experience working with young people and adults who have histories of serious trauma.
I work with queer, transgender, and gender non-conforming individuals. I am affirming of kink/sex work/polyamory & consensual non-monogamy. The issues I treat include gender, sexuality, identity, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, disordered eating, relationship issues, self-esteem, grief, and bereavement.
My work is rooted in the belief that we all have the ability to heal from our pasts and live fulfilled, rewarding, and empowered lives. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you are able to gain a better understanding of yourself and work through the things that may be preventing you from living a more fulfilled and rewarding life.
Therapy creates a space for us to explore some of the most vulnerable parts of ourselves. This self-exploration allows us to create a stronger understanding of our past, who we are, and where we want to go. Self-discovery and self-acceptance have the ability to create an incredible amount of positive change.
I utilize a variety of modalities including cognitive behavioral techniques, attachment theory, motivational interviewing, and art therapy, while also recognizing and adapting to the uniqueness of each individual.
Most of us don’t grow up in spaces where sex and sexuality are spoken about openly. It is critical to have a safe and trusting place in order to explore some of the most vulnerable parts of ourselves. The ability to understand and connect to our bodies can provide such a deep sense of safety, comfort, and pleasure.
I want to be a part of creating meaningful connections and relationships with people who have a desire to better understand themselves. I have spent most of my life in therapy working on the very things that I now get to help others work though. I know first-hand how fulfilling, rewarding, and life changing this work can be. Helping others is my passion, and I treasure getting to be a part of someone’s journey.
