SHE/HER/HERS

Hi!

I graduated from Silberman School for Social Work, Hunter College, with a concentration on Sexuality and Gender. Prior to graduate school, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Barnard College. My focus is on how sexual and bodily shame lives within us and intersects with our identities.

I’m committed to supporting people on matters related to sex/relationships/dating challenges, the LGBTQIA+ community, and nontraditional relationship styles. I’m a relational clinician and believe that the quality of our connections directly impacts our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. My goal is to support my clients in getting in touch with their innermost beliefs, preferences, and emotions, and expressing themselves to significant people in their lives while staying intimately connected.

Cultural humility is my therapeutic stance. While I may/may not share identities with my clients, I embrace my client’s identities/lived experiences with deep respect, curiosity, and empathy. I acknowledge my clients as the ultimate authority on their own experience(s).

I’m influenced by the work of Esther Perel (Mating in Captivity/State of Affairs), Sue Johnson’s Emotional Focused Therapy, Alexandra Solomon’s Relational Self Awareness, Jessica Fern (Polysecure), Martha Kauppi’s work on Polyamory,  and Suzanne Iasenza’s work on Body Narratives, among many others. I also integrate body awareness and eastern philosophy into my framework of healing. My primary value as a therapist (and personally) is the pursuit and embodiment of joy.

There’s so much beautiful work to be done in this space. I’m looking forward to meeting you!

Trust is something that needs to be built and maintained in all relationships, including the therapeutic one.

I see myself as a teammate and co-collaborator within the therapeutic process. I always welcome honest feedback.

If you’re interested in working together, email me today, and we can find a time to meet and see if working together would be a good fit.
